Kraftwerke
Feministische Kulturwoche
in Erfurt

About KRAFTWERKE:

From March 1–8, 2026, the cultural festival “KRAFTWERKE” will bring feminist perspectives into focus in the Thuringian state capital. With numerous events taking place across a wide range of venues, the festival transforms Erfurt into a vibrant platform for art, discourse, and social exchange.

The programme reflects the diversity of the local cultural scene: visitors can look forward to an inspiring mix of artistic highlights, hands-on workshops, and bold discussions. Driven by a wide variety of cultural practitioners, artists, and initiatives, the feminist cultural week makes a powerful statement for equality and diversity.

The celebrations culminate on March 8: on International Women’s Day, all of Erfurt becomes a space for collective resistance against patriarchal structures and for a more just society.

Why KRAFTWERKE?

Culture is far more than mere entertainment — it is the glue that holds our communities together and opens our eyes to what is going wrong. Especially when it comes to feminist issues, culture acts as a gateway: it makes complex injustices tangible and brings critical perspectives into the heart of society without alienating audiences. Yet the reality remains different. In art, music, literature, film, and theatre, feminist perspectives are still significantly underrepresented. That must change.

culture.equality.now!

We are creating spaces where feminist topics are not only discussed but made tangible through creative forms of expression. This week aims to bring people together, open up new perspectives, and foster dialogue between different social groups.
